1. As a Doctor, how do I log in?
If you have previously logged in, you don't need to register again. Simply click Update My Profile.
To register for the first time, enter your email address and password. Your log-in information will be matched against our database and authenticated. You will then be taken to your "Doctor Profile" to update your record with us.
After registering we will send you an email with your password, for your records. 
 

2. I logged in before. Why can't I log in now?

There are many different reasons why you cannot log in even though you are a valid user.

The most common reasons why are:

  • You may have mistyped your log-in Email and Password. Check and verify your log-in Email and Password. Passwords can be alphanumeric and are not case sensitive.
  • We implemented a secure authentication process. In your case, your Password is not being authenticated properly. Your Password is valid for use of the website from one computer only. We emailed your Password to you when you first logged in, for your records. For a new Password, contact us at medical at scottsdirectories.com

3. What does it mean when my session times out?

You are getting this message because your session has expired. Our website keeps track of periods of inactivity. If you leave your computer for a long period of time while using our website (approximately 20 minutes of inactivity), you may be asked to log in again. You have to close all current open pages as mentioned in the "Notice of Time Out" page and then log in again. This is a security feature.


4. I've logged in successfully, but I'm always asked to log in when I use the site?

There is an issue in the authentication and authorization process during your last log-in. Follow the steps below:


5. Why do I always get a "Page cannot be found" error?

This is because you are accessing our site through a link in your homepage or through the "favorites" in your internet browser. Revise your link page or "favorites" link, to www.scottsdirectories.com only.

6. How do I find out what the different Medical Specialties mean?

Click the Find An Expert box on the homepage. At the bottom of that screen, click Medical Specialties Descriptions . This chart provides detailed descriptions of each medical specialty mandated by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

(Physicians who are specialists must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in order to practice in the country).


7. What are Sub-Specialties?

As the name implies, sub-specialties are closely related to a doctor's speciality. Doctors wanting to learn more about their speciality become certified in sub-specialties. Doctors can have multiple sub-specialties. There many more sub-specialties than there are specialties.


8. Can General Practitioners (GPs) be Medical Experts?

Yes. GPs can be medical experts in areas in which they have a medical interest. Medical interests are typically accompanied by years of practical experience. GPs are not specialists and do not have sub-specialties.

10. How to delete a cookie?

The procedure in deleting a cookie of a particular web site differs from one Operating System/Internet Browser to another but the most common place web cookies are temporarily saved is in "C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Cookies\" where "xxxx" represents your own computer account name.
